First Aid at Work (FAW)

FIRST AID AT WORK

The First Aid at Work (FAW) course is well-suited for sizable employers and individuals or organizations that, following a risk assessment, determine the necessity for a more extensive training program and the diverse skills provided by this qualification.

COURSE INFORMATION:

Combined Course

In addition to helping schools fulfill their HSE and Ofsted requirements, we can combine this course with a paediatric first aid course to save money and time (3 days of training instead of 5 for both courses). If you would like to enroll in one of our open courses, the additional fee is £25.00 per person. If you choose to use this option, please notify us in advance.

Assessment

Two simple multiple-choice exams and practical exercises make up the assessment format. To be eligible, candidates must pass both requirements.

Note that, when necessary, candidates must be able to do exercises at floor level. All regulated courses require the candidate to be able to communicate with emergency services in an effective manner. While this isn’t evaluated officially, your instructor must be certain that this is the case. Because of this, all of the question papers are in English, and in the event that a candidate has literacy or learning issues, a reader will be made available.

Duration

The First Aid at Work (FAW) course should ideally be taught over three consecutive days, but it can be tailored to your needs. It requires 18 hours of contact time (including breaks). For instance, it could be divided into multiple half-day sessions at an extra expense or three days spread out over a few weeks. Kindly be advised that the course needs to be finished in ten weeks.

Certification

After qualifying, a candidate’s certificate is valid for three years, after which they must requalify by attending a two-day course (which must be finished within three months of the expiration date if the candidate is not qualified within this period). HSE advises all first-aiders to complete a three-hour refresher course once a year to maintain their certification.

Numbers

We only allow 12 people per trainer at a time. More trainers can be added to suit larger groups.
