    Key Points Osteoarthritis may coexist with other health conditions (comorbidities) that affect an older person’s overall health and mobility. Medication Considerations: When prescribing NSAIDs or other pain relief, consider potential risks for kidney disease, cardiovascular conditions, or gastrointestinal issues. Use the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration.
