  1. Brief description

    By the end of this section, you should understand: The various roles involved in supporting individuals with learning disabilities What the term learning disability means The different levels or degrees of learning disability How common learning disabilities are in the UK
  2. Module 1: An understanding of “what is a learning Disability”

    Tier 1: General Awareness Training This tier is designed for anyone who may occasionally interact with a person with a learning disability. It provides a basic understanding of their needs and how to support them respectfully.
  3. Module 2 : Health and well being

    After completing this section, learners should understand: Why equitable access to health and social care is essential. What health inequalities are and how to address them. How behavioral changes may signal unmet communication needs. Common health conditions linked to learning disabilities. Other impairments or conditions that may affect daily life.
  4. Module 3 : Personalized Care and Support

    Upon completion of this section, you should be able to demonstrate an understanding of: Every person with a learning disability is unique How to avoid discriminating against a person with a learning disability The important role of families and careers How to work with families and careers, and their role in supporting communication Communication frustrations and challenges faced by people with learning disabilities
